OUR MISSION
We are born from a mission to save every last cat claw that we can. Declawing is not a solution and it never was! it creates more problems to the cats and the owners than those it solves.
Declawing is a surgical procedure in which the toes of the cats are amputated at the last joint removing the portion of the bone with their claws. To compare this procedure with the humans, it would be to amputate the last digit of our fingers to remove the nails.
OUR STORY
When we adopted our adorable darling, he quickly stole our hearts! Our long time wish of adopting a cat came true after all.
Since he was our first indoor cat, we were not aware of all his needs besides food, water, shelter and a litter pan. We quickly came to know his need for scratching when we noticed him constantly scratching on the sofa and carpet. After doing some research into options, we bought several cat scratchers and cat trees one after the another to give hm his own space for scratching. He did not scratch on most of them. He did like to scratch on two of them but he PREFERRED to keep on scratching on the sofa as well as on the carpet.
Declawing was never an option for us since we wanted to give him the best life that we could. He was our baby after all. Thats when we found out the cat nail caps. We used them on our baby and as if a stroke of magic, the sofa and carpet destruction stopped permanently!
We decided to start a mission to stop declawing by giving and alternative option and Project Safe Paws was born!
